Jeanne, I knew Rick well. He did not denounce the Lord. Rick and I had many positive talks about God and he knew the god if the cult was not the God of the Bible. He denounced his mother and the cult not God. He was in the state of mind his mother bred in him. He was not really in the habit of listening to anyone after he left nor letting anyone influence him. He was a pretty strong guy for everything he had been thru. I was actually impressed at how sound of mind he was and he was angry. Angry from a life he felt was a lie and grown up women putting their filthy hands all over him and doing God knows what else to him. You did not know him well so you don't really know what state of mind he was in. I don't want to be rude but it is infuriating that people come out of the woodwork to play the quarterback after the game is over.
