You say, "So many people claim to have left the cult and yet continue holding onto little here and there or refusing to confront their demons [literally] because in their hearts they still have a double mind about their past and about the family. They have not taken the stand to condemn the evil of the family."
It is so true what you say here. We are captives of our past no matter who we are. I came to a point in my life where I had nothing left to lose. Oh, I've still got a livelihood and a bit of a reputation still intact but, you know, I could lose all of that tomorrow. It wouldn't take much to destroy me. But, look what I've gained in return; respect in the eyes of my own dear children. A respect I have no right receiving and am honestly unworthy of. But, the sad truth is that the damage can never be undone. I'll live with that and they'll have to live with it, too. That's very sad and heartbreaking.
I really hope that other parents will be able to fully open their hearts back up to their children and take the blame for our past and shift it to no other shoulders. They want us to be men and women they can once again respect and admire.
