I have never even been to Australia but I tried the STFW method and came up with this incomplete answer.
One possible source may be the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages. It seems the information is not public by default but there are ways to get it with some cooperation from a pre-authorized requester.
Also note that apparently there is unrestricted access if the person on the requested record is over 100. I seem to recall that some accounts stated that David Brandt Berg was travelling using an Australian passport that listed his age as over 100.
