It seems a very major step to full recovery is to admit that you were wrong and you screwed up. It took my father a very long time to finally come to this point, for many years after leaving he was in denial that the group had been bad for us. He admitted that some of the teachings were strange, but overall felt that Berg did teach Salvation and to give your life in service for God. It's taken a lot of conversations with his children and estrangement from some, plus the overall knowledge that he lost our respect due to his stance, for him to face the truth and admit that he'd been wrong for many years, difficult for any human to admit to.
MG, your daughter wrote some beautiful things about you, and from the stuff you've posted here, I believe your heart is good. There are so many children who've had it worse. Thank you for taking the stand and for publicly declaring yourself, including the use of your legal name.
