This guy is trying to poison the well, and muddy the waters.
First of all Merry was younger when she met her Berg. She must have been 11 or 12. the whole system was oppressive and abusive, the sexual part was just a horrific aspect of it. Her experience is really one of the worst. When will these people ever stop lying?
