People that were recruited in the early days were not aware of what was going on behind the scenes. I got in summer of 70. Where I was at, it was first selah and practiced by leaders, of which I was not one, and lower levels first got prepped for it with letters like Look of Love. Flirting started, then sex, then sex for money. I don't understand the resistance to correctly reflecting COG/FOL etc. history. People here are saying how important it is to put facts together about current charges rather than third hand stories. That holds true for the whole enchilada. I have been one of the most prolific writers on saying that the abuse was there before the family even started. That abuse started with Berg. Berg sought out youth using his abused youth and FG were manipulated and trained firstly not to question, and that Berg was God's Endtime Prophet.
Anything that went against the gut feeling was "the devil" therefore conscience was overridden. It took getting away and detoxing to understand what was going on there and how terribly wrong it all was. But for at least four years from the time I joined there was no "free sex" allowed except behind the scenes by Berg and his chosen victims. Or in the case of Maria, she was apparently an opportunist that went for the power position. But that was not what FG youth that were recruited back then were looking for or they would have been sadly disappointed.
That in NO WAY contradicts what happened with FFing, Esing, to SG third G or any G.
It is just an attempt to get history accurate.
