I'm an SG exer but, from time to time, like to visit this site. For the most part I've enjoyed browsing here. Honestly, I'm a bit surprised at how ugly this particular thread has become.
It's unfortunate that things have become so heated about this particular topic. I don't think that anyone is trying to accuse anyone else of lying. Is it really so offensive to be asked if you have proof to back up an allegation?
We all left for different reasons and we all have different goals. I am second generation - my experiences, reasons for leaving and goals are totally different from yours. My current goal is to present (reliable) information that I come across to my parents in the hopes that they will also one day leave. If I mention rumours to my family which later turn out to be false or unsubstantiated I will only be reinforcing their belief in the party line about "vicious apostates and their lies". To label someone who asks for proof of an allegation a "family supporter" is IMO totally ridiculous.
