To say that there is an allegation about something is already accepting that it is not true, one way or another.
To accept it as true or not is a personal choice but is doesn't make it true or false.
To say that an allegation is true, or that it is false, is probably what you refer to as "faulty logic".
An allegation is, by definition, something that has not been proven to be true or false, therefore stating that an allegation is true op is false borders with the "faulty logic" to mention.
However, to present something as true when it has already been established it is only an allegation, and continue doing so, is now beyond "faulty logic" but bordering with lying.
Continuing saying and presenting it as a fact, becomes lying.
That is the same thing we are saying The Family is doing, do we want to be caught in the same trap?
A little lie or appearance of lying can obscure all the truth that is being revealed.
