The Family's spin is that Maria bought only a small house or something piddly for her parents.
The facts seem to speak otherwise. Florence and Eugene Zerby FOUNDED the place in 1986, and Sue/Angela, Maria's own secretary, was on the board of directors for the place! Why was their daughter's secretary a director unless the Zerby's had a whole lot of say in who was a director. And why would they WANT such a situation unless they were somehow beholden to their daughter?
Maybe a lot of Family money was funneled into the project in 1986 when Eugene and Florence "founded" the place.
