A Statement Regarding the Death of Richard Rodriguez and Angela Smith

We have spent the last few days in a state of shock and sorrow over the reported deaths of Richard Rodriguez who we knew as Davidito or Ricky, and Angela Smith.
The NewDayNews.com website is provided as a service to people who have been or are still associated with “The Family”. Together we form a community, and these violent acts have shaken us to our very core.
Our message forums allow free and instant communication for anyone who comes to our site. In the spirit of free speech, the New Day News Coordinators do not edit the opinions of the people who visit the website. What we provide is empty space where people may express themselves. Often our forums are used to vent frustrations.
The NDN Coordinators are firmly convinced that the Family has encouraged and promoted serious and systematic abuse of its members, and continues to engage in a deliberate cover-up of the facts concerning that abuse. We sympathize with the anger and frustration of those who have suffered in this regard, and admire their courage to stand up against the wrong and to bring to light the shameful things that have been hidden. However, we never condone violent acts as a solution. Our sincerest condolences to all those who knew and loved Ricky and Angela.
