Yes, that would have been ideal. My impression was that he was sort of trying to find a place of healing when he went to Tucson. He told a friend (who posted on MovingOn) that he'd had a fun time with his Zerby grandparents over this Christmas. He was connecting with his flesh and blood. But he goes to Tucson to connect with his family and finds Maria's former secretary Sue there as a staff person at his grandparents retirement home and then it triggers everything. This is all so tragic.
