they may not be the villains ok, but it is the history of the Family to provide a little cash to buy people's silence. this is why mother eve has never talked about what he did to her daughters for example. financial help may be ALL you need to make sure some people are quiet.
i really wonder WHY they had Sue contact him and what she did or said. i wonder why she went to his apartment (for what reason?) i wonder if she was found in the kitchen or in the bedroom and if she had clothes on or not. there are so many details that could help us understand what exactly happened there that triggered a lifetime of rage at the abuse he had suffered at hers and his mother's hand.
