about Don Lattin and the SF Chronicle

Regarding Don Lattin of the San Francisco Chronicle and the post he put on your site, please keep the following in mind:

-if you are going to speak to him or write him, please demand the possibility to approve the final edit that will come out.

-he contacted me for an article and I had a TAPED about 3 hour interview with him, where so much was discussed, and I was satisfied with the interview. When the article came out I found out to my dismay that bits and pieces of what was said in conversation had been taken OUT OF CONTEXT and editorially put together. It hurt me no end to feel used for the umpteenth time.

So, while still I encourage cooperation with the media, I also learned that I will never speak to a journalist again without requesting that anything I say will not be quoted out of context. I would want that in writing. This means that somehow you should have say over the final edit before it goes into print.

I hope this caveat can be of help to you, just in case. I only wish I had not "trusted" as I did. I am posting this here as I figure I cannot post on your site.
