Some books I've been reading recently

"1421" about the Chinese exploration and discovery of the world, and the circumnavigation of the globe, decades and even centuries before European explorers took credit for it.

I'm not a Sinophile, but I've also been reading "The Art of War" Originally a short booklet of 13 chapters by Sun Tzu. Many scholars and philosophers throughout history have written commentaries on his work. The book I'm reading combines a translation of the original work with these translated commentaries, and allows for perspectives for anything from warfare, to management, to conflict mnanagement, to government, to welfare, to humanism, to leadership to application in strategic thinking for one's own life. Apparently this manual from more than 2000 years ago is required reading for military schools, and is referenced in modern day corporate Japan.

"The Good War" is a huge book, and I read parts of it and come back to it when I can handle more. It's comprised of first-hand human accounts from WW2, that cut through the propganda of the governments and countries (which won or lost the war). There were a lot of things which happened, which contradicted with what you see on discovery channel or read in history books, because they were not popular or permitted to be talked about.

On the lighter side, there is "A Dieter's Guide to Weight Loss During Sex." It's quite a laugh!
