I could be wrong, but I don't think the Heavenly City School was in operation as early as '85. I think they started that program in '86 or '87. And if I remember correctly, the swimming pool was constructed much later than '85.
I wonder if the rumour you heard concerns a different teen than the one in the rumour I heard. Or it might be the same one and you just have some details such as the location and date wrong (there were no details in the rumour I heard). My best recollection is that I was in Tokyo in the summer of '85 when I heard the rumour.
