The problem I've always been faced with, as an administrator of online volunteers is that we never have a long line of people waiting to take this kind of abuse.
It pays nothing, the hours are long, and most of the time you spend reading messages that are telling you that you aren't doing a good enough job.
The Internet is still largely misunderstood by the general public. I think that a lot of people are under the impression that there is some kind of company out there called "The Internet" and we all work for it.
It really is a wide open frontier. It's a bunch of people who see an opportunity and jump right in. Drama queens and all.
