it is like step step and the the other two steps are quickly taken back to back as a shuffle...it is called a triple but it is done on a the 3 and 4 count, so you have to syncopate it.
If you listen to swing music and learn to count the 1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-8 you can easily start seeing that. The 3-4 and 7-8 become "triples."
