the subject of forgiveness is a big one. it in no way precludes justice, and certainly is not the same as excusing evil. in fact it is impossible to truly forgive w/o facing evil for what it truly is. but the benefits of forgiveness are primarily to the forgiver, not the forgiven. but i won't try and get into all that here. i have just finished writing a chapter on the subject, after reading many books and articles, both therepeutic and spiritual, and it was very tough to boil down to even a chapter, much less a internet post. but i may try and get it posted in the articles section. i believe it is a very helpful and liberating concept, despite the red flags the word raises in so many.
