I can't imagine how hard it is Roger to run one of these boards. I'm glad that the SoapBox board was closed, it was really awful.
However,I'm a little upset that Kathys Corner being closed. But, I do understand her reasoning behind it.
Let's face it, some people coming out of TF believe in their heart that it was God's fault that they went through the crap they did. I know that it wasn't. Most of the fault, lies in the lieing leadership, and then themselves to continue in something they knew was a lie and not have the guts to walk away. I do, however, sympathize with the younger generation that were forced to be there. But, some of them have continued their lives. To be frank, many of them have been very successful. I don't believe many in this world have a perfect childhood and somethings you have to get over with or find help in overcoming the past. Even though, it seems like a great barrier. Otherwise, you will become stagnant the rest of your life and just blame others for your failures instead of being the success that you could potentially be.
I do believe that these boards have helped me and others.
However, some have used these boards as a means to hurt and cause injury to other people. I don't know whether they hate God and the God believing. But, it seems to me that the attacks were primarly against the people who were starting to have a new relationship with our Lord. For some reason, these people have been attacked vehemently. I watched as Acheick was attacked over and over again. I don't know whether she had a big target over her name which said "Attack Me". But, let's face it, she was attacked.
There is a time in your life to let go. I believe she made the right decision by leaving here. She had been very productive on this board as she contributed with her heart to help others (whether you see it that way or not).
Some people here have to wake up and face the music. If these boards don't help, then find something or somebody that does. There is no need dragging down and hurting others.
WE all have had a bad experience with TF but there is no need to destroy one another. If you can't get the help you need ... move on, find someone or go to some other place.
If these boards bring back bad memories and you want to viciously attack and take it out on someone than maybe its not for you. Misery loves company.
WE all have one thing in common, the word Deception...we were all deceived, lied to and abused by the same cult. Let's remember who the really enemy is, its not the ones who left and are trying to pull themselves up.
