Joseph, in the copy Acheick had e-mailed me last Monday, that statement you mention was not yet included at the end of the letter. Yesterday Acheick e-mailed me saying that she now had given permission for her letter to be posted. Hence the above post.
I very much hesitate to see it posted even now, however. Acheick said in her letter which you have read, “Quite honestly, I am tired of fighting against people for no good reason,” and has communicated to me that she does not desire to come to these boards any more. I have also heard from Carol who said that she has no more stomach for fighting and will not come to these boards to argue. Since resigning as coordinator, she has completely moved on.
Since neither Acheick nor Carol would come to this board to argue if the letter was posted, what possible good could be accomplished by a third party posting it and arguing over it?—other than to make my life as a coordinator very difficult. I have already spent many hours communicating with all the parties behind the scenes and have become emotionally weary in the process. Since it seems that both Carol and Acheick are ready to personally move on, I would like to see this board do so as well.
For the record, I want to say that I acknowledge a debt of gratitude to Achieck for her often untiring efforts in the beginning to get this board up and going, and not only that, for her hard work on a continuing basis over the last couple years doing much volunteer work behind the scenes. It is my sincere hope that the continuing presence of this board will help many people. While I have not always agreed with Acheick on political issues, I can certainly speak for her sincere dedication to this board. I am also glad that she has re-found her faith, as I am a committed Christian.
