I just quickly read through the top part of this thread.
About Journeys being a safe place for all, for agnostics, spiritual journeymen/women, atheists, and people like me whose current beliefs are not definable, because my personal way of thinking about any kind of Creator is to try to avoid any and all definitions: I think the rules and guidelines would need a little editing. For eg. where it says "...ex-members who still have faith—or are on a spiritual journey, unsure of what they believe." Some people might not see their journey as a spiritual one, as is discussed above. That could be changed a little, but I don't think it's possible to have a 100% safe environment for whomever. At times problems will arise and the coordinators will act to reign in the horses.
I think any faith, Christian or otherwise, any and all kinds of belief systems, should be possible topics on Journeys, as long as doctrinaire preaching and sermonizing is taboo.
I want to be able to hear from everybody. I like reading Perry's thoughts, Susie's, and I like reading thoughts from the Bible believers explanations when it's not telling me I need to believe it too.
My hope is that we can have a safe place where any kind of personal journey can be expressed. Maybe I'm a dreamer ....
