In regards to old age, I'm feeling pretty good - I can work all day, all week, and then some. I've noticed, though, that I've already entered my golden years. The last two kids are teens and they're either in school, or at their friends place, so I've taken up birdwatching and painting and doing some of the things that I loved to do as a boy. I've had a huge pond dug out back and I'm sowing the levy and the huge mud hill to a mix of tall and short grass prairie, spruces, willows, oaks, poplars, maples, birch and ash. I'm calling it my "pool of reflection." When the building inspector saw it he asked, What's going on back here?" I said, "You know, I like watching birds and when I get home from work I like to sit out there and LOOK, JUST LOOK. Apparently, if it's so many feet deep and I were to be swimming in it, I would be required to fence it.
I'm kinda liking my old age. I don't have to do or be anything now that I've found resolution for all my past. I can just BE. Old age can follow me around. I could die in peace now.
