If you've read the boards much, you'll know that I have posted positively a fair number of times. I was in from 1976 to 1999 and have many good memories of specific people who were wonderful friends and with whom I share many good memories. Especially towards the beginning of my years, besides the specific people I cared about, I also loved gypsy dancing around a fire, Holy Ghost samples in the park where we just had fun and did things like the Box Skit and sincerely wanted to tell people how much Jesus cared, etc. etc. etc.
I also was a teacher for many years and really liked teaching, esp. in a couple specific situations where there was a great deal of support for what I was doing, the Home backed me with time, schoolbooks, etc., the kids learned and we had a great deal of fun together. (Yes, other times this was NOT the case and it was NOT enjoyable....but you asked for good memories!)
I also was a secretary in a CRO Home for a little while- and while this was a mixed bag of good and bad memories, the good is that I learned a lot of computer skills and today I make a very respectable living as am executive legal assistant, and simply love my work, and I loved sitting behind a computer all day in that CRO Home too.
And also as I have posted before- I did pick up a few good habits over those years. For instance, the "positive thinking" lesson, which was not my prior natural disposition, has pretty much become normal for me, and I count that a good thing. Also, I was an atheist before the Family, and learned to love the Lord in a personal way, and that has not changed, though, like you, I have absolutely no interest in ever returning to the Family.
