Dear Mr. Don,

Posted by Oh Boy! on September 03, 2004 at 07:50:10

I hate to say this, but for all your claims to have fully normalized from your almost 30 years in a fucked up sex cult, saying you have 'complete recovery from the cult' you certainly seem to be exhibiting some of the classic denial phase many of us went through.

You don't seem to have worked through some of the most important issues yet, things we all need to settle, questions we need to ask ourselves. Since I am no expert on the the matter, and since there is no 'proper way' to exit and our routes are all different, I cannot and will not get more specific. What I can say is for all my years of hanging out at the boards, and only as your peer, is you've got quite some ways to go facing and learning about yourself and others. That could explain your abrasive style.

You know about 'looking through a glass darkly, right?' 'Truth' comes to us as we are ready for it. Sometimes it comes in layers. Sometimes we hinder the real whole truth from revealing itself to us because we take refuge in a simpler version we can accept. Sometimes we foolishly limit 'truth' to our own perpective, when it has many faces and many perspectives, and we all grasp it better through interacting with each other.

While you pompously 'greive daily because of people that have lost faith in real truth' and pity 'SGs never having the truth', perhaps you could start by accepting the truth about yourself, and your current safe-padding belief that you are 'fully recovered.'

You are new to the boards. Many of us come here to these boards, not realizing we are actually processing and learning, and have so much to work on, until we look back after a year or so.

Sorry if you find this offensive, since you prefer to see yourself as a level above the rest of us suckers who don't claim to have achieved 'complete recovery from the cult', and since you 'basically don't have much patience for FGs that have been out for 20 or so years and still have issues.'

If this hasn't insulted you enough, let me say that we're all here for you, welcome to the boards, and we've been there, done it, and happy trails. You've got some journeying to do.

Good point about the foolishness of tit for tat. Now please don't hit me with a tat.

(I'm not Perry)
