Judging purely by the track records of both Jules and Sam, I tend to believe Jules account. Another way of looking at it is from the loss vs. gain perspective.
It looks like Sam would have more to lose by admitting Jules is right than vice versa. Equally, it seems Jules would have nothing to gain by relating her version of what took place.
