That's a real wake-up call. You're so right that the Family will not care for aging FGs, but their habit through the years is when someone becomes disabled so they can't produce any more money or watch kids, or becomes terminally ill, is to dump them back on their "system familes" -- in this case their grown SG offspring. I think we can expect to start seeing some of that happening.
I was most surprised when reading the MovingOn article to see how SGs who had suffered in an abusive cult actually were concerned and cared for their parents still in the cult. Like you said, feelings toward parents change when the parents became old and feeble.
