Getting the stories out

I think part of the problem with some people not speaking out when they know a great deal --and maybe this includes Isaac Numbers-- is that they're just getting by financially & have kids & obligations & are afraid that if they speak out, then the things they themselves are guilty of will also be aired in a vicious strategy to hurt them as much as possible & discredit them. Maybe they're afraid the cult will hit them blow for blow back & it could even cost them their job & this could have serious financial consequences for their families. These are not small decisions.

But it's not like in the old days where you have to go on TV networks & give your full legal name & show your face & open yourself to public disbelief after you've poured out your guts. These days you can post your Bible name on a website with no photo & tell your story & get out the truth in a lasting article it can be just as effective -- at least to the people who count, other exmembers, both FG & SG.

But on top of telling the truth & risking being discredited by the Family, you also have to weigh in that if you admit your crimes then you're maybe going to have to run the gauntlet of anger & sometimes harsh criticism from other exmembers. But often this criticism is very rightly deserved, especially from SGs, & I think it's part of making things right & paying your dues, especially since we can now see that the Family is not only an aberrent sect but a criminal organization that has committed all kinds of serious crimes.

But I don't know if everyone who knows anything needs to pay a price tag so high that it would destroy them & their family. To legislate that people 'must talk' could cause a lot of new damage we don't even know about.
