Yeah, the fruits. How often we forget about those.
It was a Church rummage sale and I went through a bunch of tapes they had. I immediately recognized the art style one of them and got it. Sure enough, there was even a "salvation" message (Fam style) and the words in the songs included known themes as "I am Love" and "be free in the spirit". One of the songs was called "Lady Luck", etc. Definitely family material.
Most of the melodies suck big time, the words are sort of OK, even for a Christian, unless you understand their meaning in Family jargon. The words show that they are courting out people from the anti-abortion group and traditional-family advocates. From PR perspective, it is well done, unless you know of their real doctrines and values. There is one about a cry of a little girl for his father who left mommy and their children... how hypocritical.
On the other hand, as monotonous their melodies are (hypnotic power in action) they could be considered sweet and just over the mark above boring. Some of the singers stray off their tone but in general they are okay and I don't mind listening to them.
However, I'd take the Fab Four over TF any day. But then, there will be days like this, my momma said.
