Am I the only one around who still listens to Frank Zappa?
I met the love of my life through a dating service that had questions like, "If you were stranded on a desert island, what music would you bring with you?"
My guy answered, Frank Zappa's "We're Only In It for the Money" and anything by the symphonic conductor Herbert von Karajan. At the time I'd never heard of Maestro von Karajan, but I sure as heck knew the work of Phi Zappa Krappa.
On our first date, he took me out to celebrate my 50th birthday. After dinner, we cruised around town for several hours listening to Zappa & the Mothers of Invention on his car stereo. Suddenly, I was 16-going-on-17....lah de dah de dah...
