I like knowing what I know now but there was a lot of innocence and idealism back then. The Beatles were the catalyst for so much change in England. They dragged it screaming and kicking into the modern world. It was an exciting time to be a teenager.
I don't think the music since comes anywhere close to 64-74. I have quite a collection and now also of DVDs. I bought the Concert for George Harrison, which is great, and four discs of a TV series that was famous (in the UK) 71-85. I have the Last Waltz (the Band have always been one of my top five groups), the Isle of Wight Festival, The Kids are Alright (the Who - I put them second only to the Beatles) and a lot more. And movies - Quadrophenia, Tommy, The Wall, Rory Gallagher, etc.
And I finally have two kids (the youngest) who like rock music! All the others prefer pop in Spanish and English!
