That's why I have to take issue with your assertions that the U.S. has only acted with selfish motives when it sends troops to battle in foreign wars. Yes, we have often behaved like our British bretheren, but with the exception of U.S. military bases in the lands of former enemies, we are not guilty of creating colonies in other nations, (unless we count Hawaii).
