Another hint that it's Maria talking through your cat is if your cat is bucktoothed. Picture the Chesire Cat in "Wonderland" still smiling as it vanishes into thin air, andthe bucktoothed smile still lingering there.
Do you supposed Maria has a cat as a spirit helper? Berg had his old German Shepherd dog, Rex, that used to bark at ghost-dog that only he could see.
