Like I said, I wouldn't mind the high taxes as long as I got the good benefits that come with those taxes, for life. After all, when a person works, in most instances to get good insurance you have a certain amount taken out of each check. Add that amount to what your taxes are and compare. And that only covers you as long as you are working unless you can afford the cobra payment for continued benefits. No matter how good a worker you are in USA, if you get ill and need assistance and don't have extended family or a large savings you will quickly drain your resources for health alone. There are many scenarios but the bottom line is security for all. I believe all humans deserve that. One never knows when the need may arise. Many people live from check to check without decent benefits and they work hard. So, even if I were very wealthy, I would not mind contributing to society as a whole. Not at all.
