OK, I misread, you didn't say you thot Reagan was *great*, you said you thought he was a *good* man. I don't know if I agree there either. I suppose his tough stance against the Evil Empire did help bring communism down but I always looked at that as the overzealous stance of a military hawk who just happened to luck out. I don't know if that makes Reagan good or not but just lucky to be in the right place of history at the right time.
Remember this is also the President who ordered the invasion of Granada and who approved the Iran-Contra scandal and then later conveniently *forgot* that he had done so. He also went overbord warning that Cuba was a red tide waiting to wash up on the beaches of America. I think more than anything Reagan was a dangerous man, a cold war relic who managed to keep the economy afloat maybe more by luck than anything. Even his VP called Reagan's economics "voodoo economics".
