Ideas, huh? How in the world would I know who you personally are? That sounds a like paranoia.

I was talking about the people in political packs who think of themselves main-stream but are detached from the reality of those who are not just like them. They think they own the world and can do with them whatever they please. Based on your words, you are one of them. So, I know who you are.

But to your point... <<The real difference is, the American proud side still believes in the ideals and accomplishments and the fact that we can regret our past and present abuses and can try and make them right.>>

That is a wonderful statement and I'd like to believe it. You may want to list a few so that readers could also benefit. Acknowledging that abuses were made is nice but are you thinking about 1 or 2, or about 200 or 2000? To what scale the pride you have about fixing up abuses go?

I am betting that it goes only as far as those where they became too public to hide them. But even more difficult will be to list those abuses which are being made right.

Question on the side, would you coinsider abuse the role of the US in the Vietnam war? I bet you wouldn't object to the US defense of the corrupt South vietnamese regime. And there are many similar examples of US support of dictatorships (including Iraq'a Saddam Hussein) which became evil as soon.

I think that's enough betting. I am not a betting person.
