Maybe you can change his rose colored lenses for clear ones someday. Have you tried sticking a copy of The Judgement in his face? Maybe that would wake him up, help him see it for what it is, and he'd leave willingly. I'm sorry to hear all those things and it's very unfortunate Ruth. I had to laugh when you said it made your dad's 'century', though, to have your sister rejoin. GAWD! You must be SO TICKED! Part of his not wanting to rejoin may be that litnessing at best was never a sure thing, witnessing just kills ya sometimes, and, who knows, he may feel that if he did rejoin he'd be asked to leave again, for whatever reason, and who wants to start all over at his age again, and again, and again, and again. Better to stay where he is and keep the wolf away from the door as best he can for now. But then there's the marriage too, like you say. Anyway, I hope you can chip away at his denials.
You know, it's kinda stupid to get rid of a big family because of this, or that, and then argue over a means to an end to raise support when there's unlimited means to getting support other than a few street corners, really. It shows a tremendous lack of faith on the part of the Fam and it's local leaders. I worked with a huge family and, sure, things got messy and things got hectic, but hey, we managed to make things work for the most part. That family finally got ts'ed and "laid aside" but they went on to do marvellously well in their recovery, as well as in their denounciations of the madness. It took me a whole lot longer, but they were there for me during all that time - in praise of a big family.
