The other day, I was talking to my brother about The Family and teens/20-somethings who leave. He said that he believes that being in The Family contributes to drug use. His reasons were that (1) Leaders in the family make it seem like most "systemite" young people use drugs; so ex-TFers do drugs because it seems like everyone else their age does them; (2) Alot of their TF parents were addicted to drugs before they joined and drug abuse is often hereditary; (3) The abuse they suffered throughout their childhood drives them to abuse drugs. My brother said that most of the people he knew that had major problems with drugs used to be in TF. What do you think? Does a history in The Family increase your chances of being a drug user/abuser?
