There is a benefit and a cost to everything we do in life. I just can't see how the sadistic toruture of children can outweigh any benefit produced. Even if they have stopped doing it, there are too many of the old guard around, and the fact that they continue to defend the past is at best, disturbing.
Don't forget that denial is the first line of defense. Every lawsuit I've ever been involved in, either as defendant or plantiff was answered with a denial, even of obvious facts. An Attorney explained it to me. He said that each and every allegation would be denied, and would continue to be denied until someone proved that they were true, and then his position would be that even if they were true, they were a mistake and were not all that bad.
