Sexual abuse by females , although rare statistically, has a particularly devestating impact on males when the abuser is a female authority figure, ie mother or caregiver.
Over the years I have worked with hundreds of abuse survivors and I can remember only a very, very small percentage being sexually abused by a female. It is interesting to note that many of the male victims of abuse by a female displayed pervasive patterns of shame, anger and a deeply negative view of themselves.( generally most victims have these issues) Some manifested the issue through aggressive or self-destructive behavior.I think that the sexual abuse generated by the "Family"( what a sad name for what the COG became) is very unigue and particularly destructive in that it was approved, enabled or ignored by a wide number of parent figures based on a criminal pedophile's spiritual value system.
The more I study the issue, both as a victim of male and female sexual abuse and as a social service worker, the more I think there are strong elements of ritual abuse. I also think it will take generations and a great deal of effort for all of the survivors to heal.
