I would like to throw in an opinion here in this very controversial and hot topic. I believe that many of the people who were in "Dad's house" were so conditioned by his forceful personality that they actually believed the craziness was normal. I have spoken with a few who have been there, and they look back on their time there with amazement to actually believe that they could have done and thought the things that they did while under that influence. I in no way am condoning Sara's actions with Davidito or Mene or anyone else. She was way off the wall, and downright criminal in her actions. One thing I would like to point out, though, is that justice is not the answer for mankind. It is and always has been God's mercy and grace. Jesus himself was forgiving in his darkest hour, and asked God not to "lay this sin to their charge" as they mocked him, tortured him, and eventually killed him in their riotous, foolish cruelty. Following his example, I believe that if forgiveness is available, it should be instituted. No one said Sara has asked for forgiveness, but if she did, I would not hesitate to comply. I was not abused by her as some were, but she did give me a pretty hard time when she came to Brazil from Japan, and humiliated me by screaming at me in public meetings, demoting me from my position, and just being an overall tyrant. I believe her life is a terrible disappointment to her as mine was to me, and it took years to get over having "wasted my life" in a cult, and living in a manner that I no consider acceptable. It's a principle we're talking about, here. Two wrongs don't make a right. The best thing we can all do is look with hope to the future, and move on, and not get stuck with retribution, justice, and all the traps of bitterness and hatred. In reality, punishment will be meted out with divine measure in due time. God is in control, whether we believe it or not.
