Family Care Foundation has taken advantage of its affiliation with the national faith based initiative by failing to disclose the organizational identity of the "independent missionaries" it supports through public fundraising.

The majority of Family Care Foundation project holders are in fact adherants of a sex cult known as The Family or Children of God. This group has a documented history of beating, raping, neglecting, exploiting, and failing to educate its own children. For more information on the history of The Family's child maltreatment, see to www.movingon.org.

Many Family Care Foundation projects in developing countries involve outreach by Family "missionaries" to vulnerable populations, such as orphans, who often are caught up in the international sex trade of children. In some cases, Family Care Foundation has funded known pedophiles to oversee projects that would give these predators access to a vulnerable population.

However, neither Family Care Foundation nor its parent organization, The Family, provide support for the children raised in the cult who decide to leave as young adults or are thrown out. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of young people born into the cult who have limited means of escape or establishing themselves in mainstream society.
