Yes, I do understand, because I have physically shown up in all three locations in California, Texas and Maryland. I have looked around, and asked questions not only of the people running the establishments, but of people who were living there, and some who lived there in the past.
That's the reason I talk about those three. Because I have had a personal experience with each of them. What I'm talking about is that personal experience. If you disagree with it, fine. But, it doesn't mean that it didn't really happen or it is without merit.
Also, please don't mistake me for someone who doesn't understand when someone is putting their best foot forward. I understood that when I visted the three ex-member homes in question. I knew that when I visted the "Sizzler" house in the early 90's, and the home of that female doctor who I believe is on the FCF board of directors. I even understood it when I went to FCF on several occasions to visit the daughter of friends of ours (CM'ers) who had gone to work there, which is how I came to know Grant.
As far as one of them rejoining the Family a year before his son did... If you are talking about Barney, as far as I know you are wrong on both counts.
My Son, Christian shared an apartment in Maryland with two of Barney's son's about a year ago. He moved back to our house recently. He talks to his former room mates frequently. As far as we know, their brother did not join the Family. Either did their Father.
It is true that Barney allowed any type of person to rent a room at his home. The could be ex-members, current members on their way someplace, or even people like my son who was trying to get established on the East Coast, and lived their briefly before getting a job and the shared apartment.
My son, who was born in The Family to Jane and her first husband, came to live with me at the age of two. Soon after I legally adopted him. He told me that one of the Family members living at the home invited him to go litnessing. His reply, "No thanks, I'm a normal person".
Regarding current members living at Barney's home. My understanding is that Washington DC is a sort of "no fly zone" for rank and file Family members. Laurel is within that zone. Anyone who lives there is probably in violation of Family rules. I would have to question their loyalty in the first place if they are living at Laruel. Many of these people end up exiting The Family. Back when we had the "Pro-Family" board at NDN, we would appoint Coordinators from the group of CM'ers living at Barney's home. They would only last a month or so, and would resign because they had left The Family. This happened more times than I can remember.
