I thought they were talking about actual F. members who present themselves as "on the fringe" "ready to leave" etc. When the truth is, they are just as sold out as Maria herself. They are very adept at presenting this type of image in order to gain friendships and stifle any type of persecution or their true ambitions are in danger of being exposed. I don't think they were referring to R&A but the idea of befriending these people because one thinks they are on the fringe or about to leave or could leave. The F. is pretty saavy as to how to quell their detractors and the best way is to make friends with them and especially those who have a lot of influence, while at the same time pretending to be on the outskirts of TF. This, I believe, is the issue the poster is talking about.
