We have gone through that. It's actually better for me not to work so I can make less income otherwise, they won't get college grants. They always say to me, "but Mom - aren't we Armenian and doesn't that make us a minority so we can qualify for grants like all the other minorities ?" - they think it's so unfair. I have to explain to them that the government definition of a minority is "a people who have been characteristically disadvantaged." So who decides who is disadvantaged? Ergo, Armenians worked their arses off, made their own way and now are not considered disadvantaged. Meanwhile, they see people who didn't work hard for anything waltz into college for a free ride. I have to say they are getting cynical.
