I recently read a report that compared the U.S. economy to some of our european peers. Our unemployment numbers are down to about 5%, which is about average, even during upswings in the economic cycle. Compare that with France and Germany, who now have 9% and 10% respectively. The U.S. GDP and productivity figures are the highest in the world.
Such facts are conveniently ignored by politicians when they are trying to get our vote, (unless they happen to be the incumbent).
