Police arrest 2 brothers in College Station death

COLLEGE STATION -- Two brothers suspected of hiring out-of-state gunmen to murder a College Station rap producer have been arrested after a five-month investigation by the Brazos County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities allege that Trey Logan Davis, 22, and his older brother, Chad Fenley Davis, 28, orchestrated the slaying of Tommy Joe Andrade after a drug partnership soured.
The brothers enlisted the help of three Atlanta-area men, one of whom has been arrested, authorities said.
Investigators found Andrade, 29, shot to death Aug. 7 in his College Station home.
Authorities now believe the crime, in which a gunbattle erupted between Andrade and the three assailants, was part of a plan for revenge, the Bryan-College Station Eagle reported Saturday.
Andrade is believed to have worked with the brothers in their "major drug-trafficking enterprise" but got on their bad side when he stole from them about $100,000 worth of drugs or money, said Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk.
Investigators say they think the network, which was referred to as "The Family" and had ties to Atlanta and Pensacola, Fla., brought cocaine and marijuana into the United States through Mexico.
The brothers were arrested early Friday morning in simultaneous raids on their homes that yielded nearly $31,000 in cash, 18 firearms, five stolen all-terrain vehicles, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
Chad Davis, from Point Blank, is being held without bond. His younger brother, from Bryan, is being held in the Brazos County Jail on $1 million bond.
