Everything we have is a spin-off from technologies developed for the purpose of war: from quick dryng paint (WWI) to multi-track recording (used for ICBM launch systems) to the Internet, laser technology, ceramic engines, data compression technology, encryption, voice-recognition, to metallic alloys, the list goes on.
