I was thinking about Berg and Socialism. We were taught what you said about his move in that direction, but in actuality, when I joined there would be very conflicting descriptions of just where the family was on the political spectrum. On the one hand we were talking about living COMMUNally, but the reinforcements were often extremist to the reactionary right, politically. The candy coating to attract youth of that day was to appear to be more "social", but we had really mixed messages from every extreme. On one hand, BS would be talking about everything that Karl Marx advocated was in the bible (Acts, forsake all verses) and yet women were to be subservient to men, all were subservient to Berg,
We read Wurmbrandt and had classes on "bitter or better". We idealized Israel and wanted to have a kibbutz over there, until Berg was rejected and then the Jews were seen as "devils".
When I think about it, it seems like we were always in a state of confusion.
