We often put ourselves in a sort of trance state or semi-meditative state, when we watch a movie or get captivated by a good story. We willingly surrender our minds, because it's imossible to get into the story if we don't let go of our present reality.

These Mo and Maria Letters are desigend for wearing down a person's ability to hold on to reality. To read them for hours, and you know you have to when you're sitting around in a circle for devotions reading aloud the latest "wine," we were forced to let go of our rational minds, and to submit to a fantasy world, a place of false reality. Berg was adept at drawing us in, captivating our minds, and dominating our thoughts for a given period of time until we simply surrendered.

Can't say the same about Maria though, I don't find her writing that effective. Or maybe it's just me, now that I'm no longer affected by such bullshit writing, it doesn't draw me in and capture my mind.

Hey Jo, if you're reading this, I'll ry to follow up our little discussion soon!

Merry Xmas, yes that's right, "X-mas" as in X--M-A-S to you all.

(For those wondering, Berg told us not to call it "X-mas")
