This is a pathetic attempt by Maria and Tamar to do damage control. In the up-is-down, wrong is right, bad is good world of TF, Tamar's blatant violation of copyrighted artwork becomes a virtue. They would have us believe that when Tamar traces copyrighted artwork, and replaces the real artist's signature with her own, she isn't a plagiarist, she's a "copy artist."
They would have us believe that Tamar was simply borrowing from artist "reference material." What a bald-faced lie! Artist reference material is copyrighted artwork, for which the artist is paid a fee by those who wish to reuse it. Did Tamar get permission from the creators of the artwork she traced? No. Did she pay those artists for the rights to their copyrighted work? No. Did those artists offer their work as "reference material" or clip-art? No. Tamar simply stole these artists' artwork and penned her name to it.
In her pseudo confession, Tamar writes the following:
"I also should have given credit where credit was due when a picture was a complete copy."
Did you catch the loophole she implies in the above statement? All she need do is make minor modifications to pilfered artwork and it's no longer a "complete copy." Just change the background or hair color and...Batta-boom-batta-bing... the artwork is hers! Gee...for a girl, Tamar has some mighty large cajones!
